Instagram carousel posts can hold up to 10 slides in a single post, mixing photos and videos. To download every slide in 2026, paste the post URL into InstaSaver and save each slide individually from the preview list. The whole process takes about 20 seconds per slide and preserves full 1080px resolution plus any audio tracks attached to video slides.

Why carousels need special handling

A carousel is technically one Instagram post with one /p/ URL, but it contains multiple media items each with its own source URL. Downloaders that were built for single-media posts often grab only the first slide and stop. InstaSaver enumerates every slide before offering the download so you do not miss any.

Step-by-step

Step 1: Copy the carousel URL

Tap the three-dots menu on the post and choose Copy Link. The URL starts with instagram.com/p/ followed by the shortcode. You do not need to be on any specific slide.

Step 2: Paste into InstaSaver.one

The tool parses the post and lists every slide as a thumbnail. Slides that are videos show a small play icon in the corner.

Step 3: Save each slide

Tap Save on the slides you want. For a full carousel of 10 slides the whole session takes about three minutes and produces a clean set of JPGs and MP4s.

What about mixed photo/video carousels?

Mixed carousels (some photos, some videos) are handled transparently. Photos save as JPG at 1080px, videos save as MP4 at the original aspect ratio. Aspect ratios can vary between slides on older carousels — Instagram added a "uniform aspect ratio" rule around 2018 but earlier posts can have slides at different shapes.

Saving in slide order

If you want the files named in order, rename them as you save: post-01.jpg, post-02.mp4, and so on. InstaSaver keeps the slides in the same order Instagram shows them, so you can trust the numbering.

Carousel archives for creators

Creators often use carousels for portfolios, event galleries and tutorials. If you are the creator and you want to archive your own carousel posts before editing or deleting, this flow is the fastest path. Save the slides to a dated folder so you can rebuild the post later if needed.

Things that can go wrong

If a slide fails to load, usually the creator has added or removed slides since you copied the URL. Instagram lets authors edit carousels after posting. Refresh the page on the downloader and try again.

Some downloaders also fail on carousels with 9+ slides because they assume a maximum of 8. InstaSaver supports the full 10-slide limit.
